For businesses
Partner with shops you already know.
Commr is a partnership network for local businesses. You join, you choose who you partner with, and you set an offer. Their verified customers can use it at your counter. Yours can use theirs. You are not discounting your own regulars to take part.
What it looks like in real life
Think of a mechanic and a parts shop that already send people to each other. Or a café and the bakery next door. Those relationships already exist. Commr just puts the offer on a phone so staff can redeem it without a punch card or a handwritten note.
A customer gets verified at the mechanic. They then see the parts shop's offer in the Commr app — because those two shops chose to partner. They walk into the parts shop, show the offer, and staff tap to redeem it. Same thing the other way: the parts shop's customers see the mechanic's offer.
Nobody has to join a group. Nobody else on the network can see that partnership unless they are one of the two shops.
How it works
Register your shop
Takes a few minutes at app.commr.app. You get a web dashboard and a QR code to print for the counter. No app required on the business side — the dashboard is the shop's home.
Verify the people who already come in
They scan your QR with their phone camera. If they don't have Commr yet, that takes them to download it. Then they request to join your shop. You approve or decline. You decide who is actually a customer of yours — Commr does not auto-approve anyone.
Partner with someone you already deal with
Search for a shop already on Commr and send a request, or invite one that isn't on it yet. They accept or they don't. One shop at a time — not an open directory of random businesses. You can remove a partner later. Their customers only see your offers after both sides have accepted.
Set an offer
A percentage off, a dollar amount, or a freebie — whatever actually makes sense for you. Ongoing, or a limited number of uses. You write the wording. Staff redeem it in the app at your counter, or from the dashboard with a code the customer reads out.
The bit most loyalty apps get backwards
A customer verified with you does not see your own offers. They see offers from the businesses you have partnered with. Your offer is what pulls someone else's customers through your door.
That is the whole point. You are not paying to discount people who already come to you. The people who already come to you are the ones who can take your partners' offers somewhere else — which is how you return the favour.
Partnerships
Every partnership is one-to-one. You pick the shop. They pick you back. There is no community feed, no city-wide group, and no listing you pay to appear on.
If they are already on Commr, you send a partnership request from the dashboard. If they are not, you can email them an invite. When they register with that address, your request is waiting under Partners. They can accept it or decline it. Either way, nothing happens to their customers until they say yes.
You can have as many partners as you want. Each one is a separate handshake. Removing one does not touch the others.
Offers
You write the offer. The wording and the value are yours.
You can mark an offer as universal, which means every partner's customers can see it, or partner-specific, which means you tick which partners it applies to. Useful if you want one deal for the shop next door and a different one for someone further out.
Redemption happens at the shop that set the offer — the extending business — not at the customer's home shop. Trust flows through the partnership, so the customer does not need a separate membership with you to redeem your offer. Your staff see it in the app or type in the six-digit code from the customer's phone.
Customers and the QR
Print your QR from the dashboard and put it on the counter. Customers scan it with their camera. On iPhone that opens the App Store if they don't have Commr yet; on Android it opens Google Play. If they already have the app, it can open straight in.
Once you approve them, they stay a verified customer of yours until you remove them, or they leave. Being verified with you does not make them a customer of your partners — it only unlocks those partners' offers.
The customer app is free. It is on the App Store and Google Play.
Running it day to day
The dashboard is on the web, so it works on the counter computer or a phone browser.
If you have more than one site, you can add extra locations under the same owner login. Each location has its own QR, its own customers, and its own partnerships.
You can redeem from the phone app or type a customer's code into the dashboard. Either way it is recorded against that offer and that customer.
What you control
- Every partnership — accept, decline, or remove later
- Every customer who scans your QR
- The wording and value of each offer
- Whether an offer goes to all your partners, or only ones you pick
What this is not
- Not a paid listing or an ad slot
- Not a group anyone can join and see everyone
- Not a coupon booklet or a punch card
- Not a requirement to discount your own regulars
- Not a contract — you can remove a partner or leave
Getting started
Register at app.commr.app/register. Print your QR, put it on the counter, and start verifying people who already come in. Partnerships come after that, with shops you actually want to be next to — on your terms, one at a time.
